Jamu Recipe | Indonesian Turmeric Ginger Drink

A deliciously healthy Indonesian herbal drink made from turmeric and ginger, known for its weight loss benefits.

  • 2 inches fresh turmeric root
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, honey, and water.
  2. Prepare the roots by rinsing and peeling them.
  3. Grate the turmeric and ginger to maximize flavor.
  4. Boil the grated mixture with water for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Strain the liquid into a container to remove solids.
  6. Add lemon juice and honey while the mixture is warm.
  7. Serve and enjoy warm or chilled over ice.

Notes
